The Halkin Hotel is housed in a traditional building with a dark grey stone façade and arched windows along the ground floor. The medium sized lobby is, like the rest of the hotel, appointed in a clean, linear style, with granite fittings, marble floors and Italian-designed leather sofas and chairs. Varying in size from medium to large, the 49 guestrooms are filled with natural light and feature cream walls, wood panelling and delicate fabrics in creams and taupes. The beds are clad in 100% Egyptian cotton linen, complemented by fine goosedown duvets and pillows. All the rooms are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. Each floor has its own theme associated with water, air, fire, earth and sky. Bedroom doors are hidden within curved wooden hallways. The hotel’s dining venue, called Nahm, boasts Thai food with an urban twist by Australian chef David Thompson and is the only Michelin-starred Thai restaurant in Europe.
